Abstract: |
TiO2-clay/epoxy nanocomposites were synthesized by shear mixing followed by ultrasonic to improvement of the dispersion of nanoparticles in matrix. The microstructures of the nanocomposites were characterized by means of transmission electron microscopy (TEM). It was found that clay has been highly exfoliated and uniformly dispersed in the polymer matrix. The thermal stability of these nanocomposites were studied by using thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA).Water uptake of each nanocomposites system with diļ¬erent nanoparticles content were determined by gravimetric measurements over a period of time. From these analyses it can be concluded which combinations has higher thermal stability and lower water uptake. |
