Preparation of Al7075 alloy nanopowders by mechanical alloying and annealing |

Al7075(Al-5.6Zn-2.5Mg-1.6Cu) was successfully synthesized via controlled atmosphere ball milled for 1-20h using elemental powders as a raw materials. The MA powders were annealed at 300℃ for 2h under vaccum of 10-2 torr. Powder characterization were studied by SEM , XRD and Microhardness during different milling time. Particle size measurements and XRD analysis after 20h of milling showed the formation of 8μm average particles size with mean grain size of 38nm. It was found that due to formation of solid solution and diffusion of Mg in Al matrix, lattice parameter of Al was increased after annealing. |
