Abstract: |
Cobalt ferrite nanoparticles were synthesized by a reverse micelle process. The influence of water to surfactant molar ratio including (w = 8, 10, 12, 14) and pH value in the range of (8-11) on the size of particles were studied. X-ray diffraction, field-emission scanning electron microscope and vibrating sample magnetometer were employed to evaluate structural and magnetic properties of nanoparticles. The X-ray diffraction analysis confirms that the nanoparticles have a single phase cubic spinel structure. The average particle size increases with an increase in pH. Magnetization study reveals that the cobalt ferrite nanoparticles exhibits superparamagnetic behavior. It is interesting to find that with an increase in pH value, the saturation of magnetization increases. |
