Abstract: |
Nanoparticulate nickel oxyhydroxide in forms of black suspension and black powder have been obtained by electrooxidation of Ni in aqueous solution of CTAB which acted as supporting electrolyte stabilizer of nucleated nanoparticles. AAS, FT-IR, XRD and TEM analysis were used for characterization of the resulting powder. AAS and FT-IR results indicate that the final product is dominantly consist of a nickel oxyhydroxide . FT-IR results also indicate presence of surfactant molecules on surface of nanoparticles. XRD result reveals that the resulting compound might be a β-nickel oxyhydroxy that contains Ni(OH)2 as an impurity. TEM image shows that the resulting powder is nanoparticulate. |
