In this research, PMN-PZT ceramics with different compositions were synthesized by the mixed powder and seeding methods. In order to obtain these ceramics, the milled mixture of PMN starting materials were mixed with PZT powder and sintering process was carried out so the PMN would form during sintering process of PZT and PMN particles. The two step sintering process was used for sintering in the production of pyrochlore free PMN-PZT ceramics and their dielectric properties were studied. The results showed that samples prepared by the seeding method exhibited higher properties, which can be due to the higher homogeneity of the prepared powder. Using the seeding method, the sintering temperature was decreased 50°C with even higher relative densities. Also, dielectric measurements showed that samples prepared by seeding method exhibit higher quality. The Curie temperature as a function of composition showed a linear trend in both methods. Therefore, by controlling the composition, the Curie temperature can be controlled and this means the possibility of using the highest dielectric properties at any temperature by controlling the composition. |
