Abstract: |
Anodizing process is used to increase the corrosion and abrasion resistance and hardness of Aluminum and its alloys by forming a layer of aluminum oxide on the surface by anodic oxidation. By adding certain solid materials powder to electrolyte to participate in forming layer, it's possible to improve the properties of oxide coating. In this research, the influence of adding of Nano-diamond particles to electrolyte on hardness of formed layer has investigated. In addition, the effect of anodizing parameters on the hardness of anodic film has measured and optimum operative condition has defined. The microstructure analysis by means of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) has conducted. The results obtained from micorhardness tests have indicated that hardness of composite film has increased by at least 20 percent, comparing to common anodic oxide films. |
