Various methods for water purification and recycling have been developed and used. One of these ways is adsorption and extraction method which is a fast, inexpensive and widely applicable technique. Solid-phase extraction is one of the most popular sample preparation methods. In this work, CMK-1 mesoporous carbon molecular sieves were synthesized using mesoporous MCM-48 silica with various pore diameters as template and then modified by sodium dodecyl sulfate surfactant and Fe+3 ions. This CMK-1 typed ordered nanoporous carbon (CMK-1/SDS-Fe) was investigated as a novel solid phase extraction sorbent for the first time. The structural order and textural properties of the modified synthesized material was studied by XRD analysis, Nitrogen adsorption–desorption analysis, SEM photograph and FT-IR technique. Then this study was investigated the adsorption characteristics of 1,10-Phenanthroline and 2,2'-Bipyridine from aqueous solutions on the new modified nano sorbent by the SPE method and UV spectroscopic technique. Five effective and controllable factors such as solution pH, solution transmissions speed, sorbent mass, eluent volume and eluent flow rate have been optimized by using the Taguchi robust design method. The results showed that dynamic linear range exhibited a good linearity between ranges of 20 and 600 µg/L. The limits of detection (based on 3σ) for 1,10-Phenanthroline and 2,2'-Bipyridine were 8.75 and 10.1 μg/L respectively. Recovery and relative standard deviation (n=6) at 25 μg/L level for 1,10-Phenanthroline and 2,2'-Bipyridine were 92.8, 92.2, 2.5 and 1.7% respectively. Finally, extraction and determination of 1,10-Phenanthroline and 2,2'-Bipyridine from real aqueous sample was successfully investigated. |
