In this novel research nickel oxide gadolinium-doped ceria,NiO-GDC,composite nanofibers have been synthesized via the electrospinning method. For this purpose ,homogenous (NiO-Ce0.8Gd0.2O2-δ ) gel was successfully synthesized by the Cation Complexation technique using Ce,Gd,Ni nitrate ,followed by electrospinning of the mixture of the transparent gel / polyvinyl alcohol aqueous solution to obtain the nanofibers for the first time. The resulting nanofibers were calcinated to form the composite nanofibers. The structure and morphology were elaborated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analyses. It was also found from the SEM analysis that the obtained fibers have been synthesized in less than 50 nm. The Ni-GDC composite nanofibers could be further used as the anode material for low-temperature solid oxide fuel cells(SOFCs). |
